Job summary

UTHealth Houston Police Department seeks a Senior Public Safety Officer to lead patrols, enforce policies, and mentor officers. This role supports visitor management and the operation of security technology while coordinating with leadership on departmental objectives.

Qualifications

• Leadership and mentoring skills to develop Public Safety Officers.
• Strong communication and customer service orientation.
• CDL licenses (Class A/B/C) or Driver License required in Texas; residency in Texas is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Public Safety Officers; provide ongoing professional development.
• Coordinate security services for campus events and manage visitor access.
• Oversee security devices, CCTV, and security technology readiness.
• Respond to calls, conduct patrols, and prepare incident reports.
• Perform duties of Public Safety Supervisor in their absence; ensure readiness during emergencies.
