Job summary

The City of Battle Creek is seeking candidates for Police Recruit positions sponsored through the Police Academy. Selected applicants will enter the Kellogg Community College Police Academy or another Department-approved academy and transition to entry-level officers upon successful completion, with a structured field training program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate Degree preferred or 24 college credits/2 years of law enforcement experience.
• Military service in good standing or commitment may be considered in lieu of education.
• Must be legally able to work in the United States.
• Background investigation successful with no felony convictions.

Responsibilities

• The Police Recruit supports policing operations during academy sponsorship.
• Works under supervision and progresses to entry-level police officer after academy completion.
