Candidates will undergo a POST Entry Law Enforcement Test Battery, which may be waived if a passing "T" score of 45.0, taken within 12 months, is submitted with the application. The top candidates will be invited for an oral panel interview, which will determine placement on the eligibility list.
The Police Recruit is a training classification for candidates learning police duties. Recruits participate in law enforcement training, learn police procedures, law, first aid, and physical skills. They may perform non-sworn duties supporting police operations. Recruits who do not complete the Police Academy will be terminated.
Recruits receive general guidance from higher-level personnel and P.O.S.T. staff. No direct supervision of staff is exercised.
