Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of administrative/records-related experience.
  • Knowledge of data entry, filing systems, and public records management.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in records.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with computers and software including Microsoft Office and records management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, catalog, and maintain found property in compliance with retention schedules and DPSS policies.
  • Review criminal and non-criminal reports, logs, and records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist with processing, storage, and lawful disposition of found property.
  • Perform record redaction to protect confidential information for requests.
  • Process and track background checks and records requests from authorized entities.
  • Assist in developing and updating departmental procedures for records and found property.
  • Provide administrative support for entry, retrieval, and reporting of records.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information per regulations.
  • Provide coverage during the Police Records Manager's absence.
