The City of Emeryville is seeking a Police Officer Trainee to serve the Emeryville community. The trainee earns $82,212.00 to $86,292.00 annually with City-paid health, dental, and vision benefits for employee and dependents, capped.

Upon academy graduation and appointment as Police Officer, a comprehensive benefits package will apply per the POA MOUs. Compensation may include incentives beyond base salary.

Qualifications

• Must have completed PELLET-B written exam with T-score 45+ or NTN Law Enforcement test with minimum scores.
• Age 20+ and 21+ at appointment; U.S. citizen or eligible for citizenship.
• California driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls for service and respond promptly.
• Protect life and property; make arrests when needed.
• Enforce traffic laws and investigate crimes.
• Patrol designated areas on foot, bike, motorcycle, or car.
• Engage in crime prevention and community relations activities.
