The City of Alameda is recruiting Police Officers – Recruit and Academy Attendees. Successful candidates may receive a $75,000 hiring incentive funded in installments during swearing-in and after completing Field Training.

Academy pay starts at $38.63/hour with full family medical coverage, and top-step pay reaches $76.32/hour upon graduation, with additional bonuses and benefits offered. Applicants must meet age, education, licensing, and testing requirements and commit to service and ongoing

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years old by appointment date.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• PELLETB T-Score of 45+ OR NTN scores: 65% Video; 70% Writing; 70% Reading.
• Valid CA driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Attend a POST-certified basic police academy with closely supervised training.
• Perform duties as Police Officer – Recruit until academy completion; transition to Police Officer after graduation.
