Concord Police Department is seeking a Police Officer Trainee to enter a POST-approved Academy. Trainees are temporary, at-will employees while in training and do not yet hold Police Officer status. Upon successful completion, they become sworn officers with full benefits.

The role emphasizes observation, quick decision-making, learning SOPs, and eventually handling standard policing duties with community interaction and professional reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 60 college semester units; 30 units may be considered for eligibility.
• POST Pellet B score of 50+ required.
• Valid California Driver's License is required.
• Authorized to work in the United States; US citizenship not required.

Responsibilities

• Attend a POST-approved Police Academy.
• Complete the Academy to be sworn as Police Officer.
• After academy, be appointed as a Police Officer with Concord Police Department.
• Perform standard policing duties following department policies.
