Job summary

The City of Cathedral City is seeking enthusiastic women and men interested in establishing a challenging career in Public Safety. This opportunity offers a pay rate of $27.00 per hour and a temporary/at-will employment status while attending a POST-certified recruit academy.

Police Officer Recruits may be sworn in as full-duty Police Officers upon successful graduation and completion of City employment requirements.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident eligible for citizenship.
• Minimum age 21 at appointment and valid CA driver's license.
• Good physical fitness and mental health per POST standards.
• Must be able to work a variety of hourly shifts including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Police Officer Recruit serves as a paid at-will employee while attending training at a POST-certified recruit academy.
• May be sworn in as a full-duty Police Officer upon graduation and meeting employment requirements.
