The City of Cathedral City is seeking enthusiastic individuals for a challenging career in Public Safety as police officers. The position includes a wide range of duties from law enforcement to investigations and community assistance, with opportunities for advancement and special assignments.

Applicants must meet POST requirements, be a U.S. citizen or eligible for citizenship, and possess a valid California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school.
• Graduation from a POST-certified Basic Academy within the last 3 years.
• Possession of a California POST Basic Certificate required for Lateral Applicants.
• Must be a citizen of the United States or a permanent resident alien who is eligible for citizenship.
• College-level classes in police science or justice are desired.
• Good physical fitness and mental health as required by POST standards.

Responsabilités

• Perform peace officer duties including protection of life and property.
• Enforce laws and ordinances, conduct criminal investigations, and provide information to the public.
• Maintain firearms proficiency and meet POST certification requirements.
• Participate in a rigorous background investigation and polygraph as part of the pre-employment process.
