Hermosa Beach Police Department is hiring a Police Recruit, a non-sworn staff member in a training position. The recruit attends a P.O.S.T certified basic police academy as a temporary Police Officer Recruit, receiving rigorous academic and physical training in many areas of law enforcement.

Upon graduation, the Recruit is promoted to a probationary Police Officer and begins a field training program with on‑the‑job instruction in narcotics, arrest procedures, investigations and report writing.

Qualifications

• Age 20½ or older
• U.S. citizen or naturalized citizen
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Possession of a valid Class C California Driver License

Responsabilités

• Attend a P.O.S.T. certified basic police academy as a Police Recruit and complete rigorous academic and physical training.
• Graduate from the academy and be promoted to a probationary Police Officer.
• Participate in a field training program with on‑the‑job instruction in narcotics, arrest procedures, investigations and report writing.
• Complete a 12‑month probationary period, which may be extended at the Chief of Police’s discretion.
