Job summary

Alabaster Police Department is seeking non-certified candidates for testing to join our team. The starting pay as a recruit is $24.82 per hour, with $27.37 per hour after completion of the APOST academy.

Testing will be held on 9.18.2026 at 8:00 am at the APD building, 100 11th Ave Southwest, Alabaster 35007, including a written test requiring a score of 70 or higher to advance to the physical agility test the same day.

APOST adopted the Basic Abilities Test (Work Keys Assessment) for all candidates that do not hold an associate degree or higher.
