IU Health Tipton Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Day Shift Public Safety Officer. You will conduct rounds and patrol IU Health properties, respond to calls, enforce rules, and help maintain a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors.
Required: High School Diploma or GED, 0–3 years of relevant experience, valid Indiana Driver's License, and completion of Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Tier I or II within one year.

Conducts rounding and foot and vehicle patrols in and around properties that are owned, leased or occupied by IU Health. Responds to calls for service. Enforces and assists in the enforcement of IU Health rules, regulations, policies and state statutes. Provides direction and guidance to team members, guests and patients. Assists teams with de-escalating tense, uncertain and emotional situations. Proactively works to prevent crime and safety incidents. Responds to and investigates criminal activity and vehicle crashes as needed. Maintains records and logs and completes written reports as required. Performs physical security screening as required. Creates a safe healthcare environment for team members, patients and guests. Performs other duties as assigned by the chain of command.
