IU Health North Hospital seeks a full-time security officer to conduct rounds, patrols and respond to service calls, ensuring a safe healthcare environment for staff, patients and visitors.
The role requires 0–3 years of relevant security experience, a high school diploma or GED, and an Indiana driver’s license. Candidates must complete the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Tier I/II within a year and obtain NCIC/IDACS certification, plus pass background checks and drug screenings.

Conducts rounding and foot and vehicle patrols in and around properties that are owned, leased or occupied by IU Health. Responds to calls for service. Enforces and assists in the enforcement of IU Health rules, regulations, policies and state statutes. Provides direction and guidance to team members, guests and patients. Assists teams with de-escalating tense, uncertain and emotional situations. Proactively works to prevent crime and safety incidents. Responds to and investigates criminal activity and vehicle crashes as needed. Maintains records and logs and completes written reports as required. Performs physical security screening as required. Creates a safe healthcare environment for team members, patients and guests. Performs other duties as assigned by the chain of command.
