The Newark, Ohio Civil Service Commission is seeking qualified candidates to build an eligibility list for future positions as Police Officers, starting January 1, 2025.
The Civil Service Commission offers full testing services through National Testing Network, Inc. (NTN). To apply and schedule a test, visit www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select Law Enforcement, and sign up for the Newark Division of Police.
After completing the entry-level exam and Personal History Questionnaire, scores are automatically sent to the Newark Division of Police. Candidates with passing scores on both tests may be placed on the eligibility list. The department will contact candidates on the list to proceed with further stages of the selection process.
NTN provides a standardized, professional testing environment but does not make final decisions; all results are forwarded to the Newark Division of Police for final determination.
Minimum requirements include being at least 21 years old, possessing a valid Ohio driver’s license, passing written and physical agility tests, and residing within or near Licking County.
Skills required include problem-solving, data collection, and interpretation of technical and legal instructions, handling multiple variables, and making valid conclusions.
