Requirements:

1. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of the application as permitted by 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6.
2. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age at the time of application and when the final eligibility list is posted, unless exempt from such age limitations as provided in the Fire and Police Commissioners Act.
3. All applicants must possess a minimum of 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university as a condition of hire as a River Forest Police Officer.
4. Applicants must submit proof of passing the Illinois Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) Test, valid between June 7, 2024, and June 7, 2025.

If you are unable to obtain the above documentation at the time of submitting your application, you will be required to bring it with you on the day of testing.

STEP 2:

A mandatory orientation will be held in person on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 7:00 pm.

Check-In begins at 6:30 pm.

STEP 3:

Written Examination: The minimum passing grade is 70%.

Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 9:00 am

Check-in begins at 8:00 am.

No one will be admitted after 9:00 am.

STEP 4:

Applicants who pass the written test will be notified of the time and location for their oral interview.
