Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Police Officer role at Owens Community College, located in the Toledo, Ohio Metropolitan Area. The Police Officer will be responsible for maintaining campus safety and enforcing laws to protect students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include patrolling the campus, responding to emergency calls, conducting criminal investigations, collecting and preserving evidence, and ensuring compliance with college policies and state laws. The officer will collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed and participate in campus safety programs and initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Police Officer or in a law enforcement role
• Skills in collecting and preserving evidence
• Ability to conduct criminal investigations
• Understanding and application of law enforcement techniques and practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field (preferred)
• CPR and First Aid certification (a plus)
• Must possess or be able to obtain Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) certification
