Security Police Officer - Armed - 40 hrs/wk - Variable Shift - Wyandotte

Under general supervision, monitors Henry Ford Health facilities and properties to protect persons and property associated with Henry Ford Health against injury or loss. Directs visitors, patients, and employees to appropriate locations and intervenes to prevent and control disturbances. Keeps relevant parties informed of activities, events, and incidents. Summons assistance as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of Henry Ford Health facilities and personnel.
• Monitor surveillance systems and patrol assigned areas.
• Respond to alarms and incidents promptly.
• Enforce hospital policies and security protocols.
• Assist visitors, patients, and staff as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Successful completion of a psychological evaluation.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Current full-time police officer in Michigan, or retired/resigned in good standing from a Michigan police department, or qualified out-of-state officer, or have security/military experience as specified.

Certifications/Licenses:

• P.A. 330 Certification and valid Concealed Pistol License.
• Valid Michigan driver's license.
• Successful firearms training and ongoing compliance with training requirements.

Additional Requirements for External Candidates:

• Successful psychiatric and background evaluations.
• No felony or certain misdemeanor convictions.
• No dishonorable military discharge.
• No outstanding warrants.
• Possession of a valid Concealed Pistol License.
• Certification as a PA 330 officer through Henry Ford Health or qualified exception.
