Job Summary

The Police Officer is a sworn officer responsible for law enforcement, security, loss prevention, and customer service duties, maintaining a visible presence to deter hospital threats. Responsibilities include maintaining law and order on hospital grounds, patrolling, checking for unauthorized movement, conducting investigations, making arrests, testifying in court, and enforcing vehicle and parking regulations.

Incumbents also monitor patient and visitor activities, assist nursing personnel with severely combative patients, and carry out standard search procedures in cases of unauthorized patient absences.

Essential Functions of the Role
  1. Patrol assigned areas via vehicle, bicycle, and foot to detect and deter crime.
  2. Apprehend subjects committing crimes.
  3. Respond to emergency calls, safety escorts, and assistance requests.
  4. Produce accurate reports on criminal offenses, safety hazards, and other incidents.
  5. Participate in specialized units such as investigations, fire safety, and emergency management.
  6. Conduct initial and follow-up investigations.
  7. Implement crime prevention strategies and programs.
  8. Enforce laws, policies, and organizational missions.
  9. Transport legal documents, valuables, and secure articles safely.
  10. Stay updated on laws, regulations, and trends in security through training and reading.

  • Education: Associate's degree or 4 years of related experience.
