Position Overview
The Police Officer at the University of Kansas is a commissioned law enforcement position with full authority under applicable law. The role involves duties in accordance with departmental rules, state laws, city ordinances, law enforcement ethics, the US Constitution, and principles of law enforcement. Candidates without Kansas law enforcement certification will be sent to the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center for training. Responsibilities include criminal investigations, searches and seizures, arrests, court presentations, emergency responses, traffic law enforcement, and collaboration with other agencies.
