Job summary

The City of Grapevine Police Department seeks an experienced Public Information Officer to lead public communications, media relations, and community outreach. You will produce and monitor communications for the department, advise on digital content, and act as the department's public spokesperson at events.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years of media/public safety experience, and the ability to work irregular hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of experience working with media, media outlets, and/or for a public safety agency in a PIO role preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Must pass CJIS background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Police Department communications to the public, media and other organizations.
• Acts as the Department's public spokesperson at Department events.
• Develops and implements a communication strategy for the Department.
• Keeps digital communications current across websites and social media.
