Job summary

The City of Grapevine is seeking a Communications Specialist to develop, produce, and distribute engaging content for the public, media, and community partners, focusing on the Police Department and Animal Services programs.

You will craft messaging for publications, newsletters, websites, social media, and signage, ensuring accurate branding and professional tone across all channels. Collaboration with city departments is essential.

Qualifications

Two years of college coursework in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
Excellent writing and editing skills for publications, websites, and social media.
Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

Create engaging multimedia content to promote departmental programs across digital and print.
Write, edit, and coordinate content for newsletters, reports, websites, social media, digital signage, and other materials.
Develop creative story ideas and campaigns to increase community engagement and support media outreach.
Produce photography, videography, and graphics content for marketing and public information purposes.
Collaborate with Police Department divisions and City departments to ensure branding consistency.
Regular and timely attendance is required.
Interacts professionally with the public, coworkers, and others in daily work.
Performs other duties as assigned.
