Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, business administration, public relations or related field.
  • Three years of marketing or communications experience.
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
  • Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Successful completion of a CJIS FBI background check.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to media inquiries and serve as department spokesperson.
  • Coordinate media events and distribute press releases and materials.
  • Develop and coordinate programs to promote department services using video, photos, and social media.
  • Schedule speaking engagements and media interviews to convey department information.
  • Write and edit speeches, press releases, brochures, newsletters, and meeting agendas.
