Job summary

City of Rialto is seeking a Custodian to perform routine cleaning and maintenance of City buildings and grounds. You will operate and maintain custodial equipment, assist with events, and help ensure a secure, sanitary environment.

The role requires the ability to lift, bend, reach, and work on rotating shifts, including nights and weekends. A High School diploma or GED and a valid CA driver’s license are required, plus a background investigation by the Rialto Police Department.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, materials, and safe work practices.
• Ability to bend, reach, twist, push and lift as needed to perform duties.
• Six months of custodial work experience preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required, valid CA driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial duties to keep buildings and grounds clean and secure.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub floors and restrooms; maintain cleanliness of windows and fixtures.
• Move and arrange furniture; assist in setting up spaces for events and meetings.
• Report maintenance needs; perform minor repairs and replace light bulbs or fixtures as needed.
• Ensure security during assigned hours, monitor for safety hazards, and respond to emergencies.
