The City of Rialto Police Department seeks a civilian Logistics/Asset Coordinator to support fleet, inventory and procurement. Under supervision, this role coordinates fleet maintenance schedules, tracks equipment and supplies, and ensures asset accountability.
The position requires two years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a California driver’s license. Background checks and medical clearance are required.

Under general supervision, performs a wide range of civilian logistical, inventory, fleet, and equipment support functions for the Police Department. This position is responsible for coordinating fleet maintenance schedules, managing department-wide inventory and issued equipment records, procuring supplies and equipment from approved vendors, and ensuring operational readiness through effective logistical planning and asset accountability.
Under supervision, the individual in this class will serve as the central point of coordination between department personnel, vendors, fleet maintenance providers, and internal administrative units to ensure timely acquisition, tracking, maintenance, and replacement of departmental assets. Work requires independent judgment, organizational skill, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a law enforcement environment.
Receives direction from a sworn Police Officer or designated supervisor.
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Two years of increasingly responsible non-sworn or sworn police program support experience.
Verification of a High School diploma, a GED certificate, or a higher degree.
All appointments to this position are subject to the successful completion of an in-depth background investigation conducted by the Rialto Police Department as well as a physical examination including a drug screening. The background investigation is a rigorous process. A typical background investigation includes but is not limited to: background interviews with individuals designated by the Rialto Police Department (this may include current and former co-workers, friends, relatives, neighbors, or any other relevant individual), criminal background check, credit check, polygraph examination, and psychological evaluation. Candidates may be disqualified from further consideration during the background investigation for a variety of reasons including if they have: an excessive number of traffic citations and/or collisions; arrests and/or convictions; a history of illegal substance abuse; poor credit history (factors include bankruptcy, foreclosures, liens and repossessions); or thefts from a previous employer. Veterans of the armed forces, who have been discharged or released from active duty under conditions other than dishonorable (Government Code: 18540.4), shall receive an additional five (5) points to their final examination score for ranking purposes only.
