Job summary

The Valdosta Police Department is seeking a dedicated custodian to perform custodial care and maintenance of department facilities. The role includes cleaning waste receptacles, restrooms, water fountains, floors, furniture, windows, and exterior surfaces; mowing lawns and basic repairs as needed.

Candidates should be able to read, write, perform basic math, follow instructions, and prioritize tasks. No prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of city safety policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of the use of various cleaning chemicals.
• Skill in operating such cleaning equipment as a vacuum cleaner, buffer, and various hand tools.
• Skill in following instructions.
• Skill in prioritizing work.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
