Job summary

The City of Charlotte is recruiting for a Police Assistant Administrative Director to lead the CMPD’s financial planning and budgeting functions. The role reports to the Chief of Police and directs fiscal affairs, budgeting, procurement, and program evaluation within the department.

The ideal candidate will have strong financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning skills, with the ability to lead staff and coordinate with city-wide stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field with seven (7) years of relevant work experience.
• Master’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field with five (5) years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs development of the department’s annual operating and capital budget requests and aligns with strategic goals.
• Oversees budget execution, monitors expenditures, and recommends action to keep spending within limits.
• Presents budget proposals and fiscal impact analysis to leadership and City Council as required.
• Directs financial reporting, audits, and response to audit findings and ensures corrective action.
