Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Brenham, TX is hiring a Fitter for the 3rd shift (9 PM–7 AM). You will tack weld small components to pole shafts, read drawings, and assemble parts using grinders, drills, and plasma cutting. The role requires reading English, basic math, and welding training or experience.

The position starts at $26.07/hour plus $1.00 shift differential, with step pay increases at 90 days, 1 year, and 2 years. Safety gear and a strong teamwork environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Ability to use common manufacturing math.
• 1 year experience reading and using blue prints.
• 1 year in manufacturing or fabrication or welding program training.
• Must pass FCAW weld test and maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Tack welds small components to shafts using FCAW and SAW processes.
• Read drawings and gather parts from Storeroom for assembly.
• Position shafts and components using cranes and fixtures.
• Use plasma torch to cut steel and assists with drilling and grinding.
• Ensure quality through measurement and inspection.
