Job summary

Valmont Industries in Brenham, Texas, is seeking a Fitter Welder 11 to assemble pole units by tack welding small parts to shafts and performing structural welds per code and drawings. The role includes reading blueprints, using a plasma torch, and operating cranes. First pay rate starts at $28.72–$29.95 per hour with a 3rd shift schedule and potential step pay increases.

A discretionary annual bonus is possible. 3rd shift, Monday–Thursday, 9 PM–7 AM, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets drawings and blueprints to determine parts for pole assembly.
• 3–5 years of experience in welding or fitting in manufacturing/fabrication.
• Completes FCAW, GMAW, SAW weld tests and maintains certification.

Responsibilities

• Welds components with GMAW to assemble pole shafts and SAW welds for structural parts.
• Operates jib cranes and machines to position and assemble assemblies.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety, follows LEAN practices.
