Job summary

Valmont Industries in Brenham, TX is seeking a Custom Fitter Welder I to assemble pole components and weld to meet code requirements. You will read blueprints, follow procedures, and use GMAW, FCAW, and SAW welding processes with occasional plasma cutting.

The role requires 3–5 years fitting/welding in manufacturing, ability to lift 50 pounds, and the capacity to operate cranes. Starting pay is $28.72–$29.95 per hour with shift schedule Monday–Thursday 7 AM–5 PM and potential step increases and

Qualifications

• Must read and write English.
• 3-5 years welding/fitting in manufacturing or fabrication.
• 3 years reading blueprints.
• 3 years welding experience or graduate of welding-focused program.
• Must pass FCAW, GMAW, and SAW weld tests and maintain certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Welds using GMAW to tack small parts to shafts for pole assemblies.
• Welds with SAW for structural welds per drawings.
• Position shafts on fixtures and move components with a jib crane.
• Read drawings to identify parts and locations for assembly.
• Use plasma torch to cut steel as required.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and follow LEAN practices.
