Job summary

Sabre Industries, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Welder/Fitter to join our Large Pole department in Texas. The role involves assembling pole sections, reading drawings, and using plasma and oxy-acetylene torches to prepare parts for weld passes.

You will work on assemblies, verify dimensions, and follow strict safety procedures in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Must lift up to 50 pounds and thrive in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED and basic shop math.
• Must be able to read complex prints and specs.
• Proficiency with weld gauges and measurement tools.
• Experience with Flux-Cored Arc Welding preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced shop.

Responsibilities

• Welds components using Flux-Cored Arc Welding to assemble pole sections.
• Reads drawings and gathers parts from storeroom for assembly.
• Measures distances and confirms locations with tape, level, and square.
• Cuts, drills, and ablates parts using plasma and oxy-fuel torches as required.
• Maintains safety gear and follows welding procedures and codes.
• Operates overhead crane to move finished poles to transport area.
• Instructs other welders and fitters to address defects or productivity gaps.
