The role requires knowledge of HIV/AIDS/STD presentations, and the ability to coordinate care across shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate detailed knowledge of pharmaceuticals and toxicological principals.
• Must have HIV/AIDS/STD knowledge, their symptoms, treatments and testing.
• Excellent oral, written, and keyboard skills; ability to operate computers and the telephone system.

Responsabilités

• Responds to telephone calls regarding appropriate care and treatment for acute poisoning and toxic exposures.
• Demonstrates understanding of toxicology principles when advising on patient management or poison information.
• Acquires skills to operate the telephone system, computers and related peripherals.
• Obtains a complete history for each call.
• Assesses call severity and decides on follow-up actions.
• Listens to callers to identify problems and coordinate care.
