Job summary

Rutgers University in Newark seeks a Health Educator III to foster statewide public awareness on poisoning injury risk, poison prevention safety, and NJPIES services. You will develop and deliver education programs, with 50-75% field work at events and community venues across New Jersey.

The role requires planning, outreach, and collaboration with diverse communities, plus strong communication skills and travel across all counties. On-site, full-time position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in public health-related field with relevant experience.
• Experience delivering health education to diverse populations.
• Willingness to travel across New Jersey.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and communicates community health needs.
• Plans, develops, implements and evaluates NJPIES' community education programs with majority field work.
• Provides outreach to diverse populations by collaborating with community organizations and schools.
• Serves as a community resource on poisoning injury and poison center services.
• Develops and maintains relationships with community-based organizations and coalitions.
