The Point of Sale (POS) Clerk is responsible for operating the school cafeteria cash register system, accurately processing meal transactions, assisting students and staff during meal service, and supporting the daily operations of the school nutrition program. The POS Clerk provides excellent customer service while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with school meal program requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate the computerized point of sale (POS) system during meal service.
• Accurately record and process student and staff meal purchases.
• Handle cash
• Monitor student meal accounts and communicate account balance information as directed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student meal account information.
• Ensure meal service lines move efficiently and professionally.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Attend required training sessions and staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director or Kitchen Manager.
