Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a collaborative Point of Care Coordinator to advance patient testing programs, quality, and regulatory compliance across departments. The ideal candidate is highly organized and excels at building relationships, mentoring staff, and guiding teams toward safer, more accurate results.

In this role you will lead training and competency programs for POC instrumentation, ensure compliance with CAP/DNV and CLIA, and evaluate new technologies to improve efficiency and outcomes

Qualifications

• Certification: MT/MLS/IMLS or CPP or CLT by ASCP/AMT/AACC, or prior HEW/HHS credential.
• Bachelor's degree required; associate's degree may substitute for MT if qualified by 1992.
• Additional licenses/certifications as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with nursing leaders and CED to ensure staff performing POC testing comply with CAP, DNV, CMS, CLIA and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate training and competency programs for all POC instrument operators and act as a liaison with the lab and other health care providers.
• Establish and monitor a quality assurance program including QC, proficiency testing, and documentation of results.
• Prepare for CAP and DNV inspections; write/upate test procedures and manuals as needed.
• Evaluate proposed POC equipment/tech; balance quality, cost and practicality; support implementation decisions.
