Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a proactive Medical Assistant to support podiatry/orthopedic care in our Hixson, TN clinic. You will assist physicians with clinical and administrative tasks, manage patient flow, and help ensure a high standard of care.

Ideal candidates have EMR experience (athenahealth), strong communication and customer service skills, and willingness to work as part of an interdisciplinary team in a weekday clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred
• X-ray experience is a plus
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience ideal
• Experience with geriatric patients preferred
• Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare for physician
• Complete exam intake including medical, social and surgical histories
• Record vitals and document in EMR (athenahealth)
• Assist physicians and take X-rays as required
• Stock exam rooms and dispose of waste
• Sterilize exam and X-ray rooms after visits and at day end
• Coordinate patient care and referrals as needed
• Travel to surrounding clinics for support
