Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to support physicians in a Danville, KY clinic. The role involves clinical and administrative duties, including x-ray support and EMR documentation, with potential travel to nearby clinics.

Ideal candidates have podiatry or orthopedic clinic exposure, and experience with athenahealth EMR. Strong communication and patient-care skills are essential in this team-based setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal.
• Experience assisting or providing care to geriatric patients preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience working in an EMR; athenahealth preferred.
• Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional customer service highly preferred.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Complete exam intake including medical, social, surgical history, and history of present illness.
• Record vitals and documentation in athenahealth EMR.
• Provide patient care under a podiatric physician, including taking x-rays and assisting in the exam room.
• Perform daily administrative tasks such as restocking exam rooms and disposing of trash.
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after each patient visit and at day end.
• Equipment sterilization.
• Coordinate care for Upperline Plus patients and other care referrals.
• Telephonic outreach to coordinate preventative care.
• Travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support as needed.
