Podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience and X-ray skills are highly valued. The MA will work in the clinic, assist with exams, capture vital signs, document in athenahealth EMR, and coordinate care across care teams.

Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Care coordination or care management experience preferred.
• Experience working with geriatric patients is ideal.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with EMR systems; athenahealth preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service mindset.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for appointments and ensure comfort in exam rooms.
• Complete patient intake including medical, social, and surgical histories.
• Obtain vital signs and document accurately in athenahealth EMR.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures, including taking X-rays.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam and X-ray rooms.
• Sterilize equipment according to clinical standards.
• Conduct health assessments with Upperline Plus patients.
• Perform telephonic outreach to coordinate preventive care.
• Support care coordination activities such as scheduling and referrals.
• Travel to nearby clinics as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
