Qualifications

• Prior Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience ideal.
• Experience assisting geriatric patients preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with EMR; preferably Athenahealth.
• Effective communicator with strong grammar and interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding customer service oriented.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Complete exam intake including medical, social, surgical history, and current illness history.
• Record vitals and document in clinic EMR (Athenahealth).
• Provide patient care under podiatric physician direction and assist in the exam room.
• Perform daily administrative tasks like restocking rooms and waste disposal.
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after each patient and daily.
• Sterilize equipment as required.
• Conduct health assessments and visits with Upperline Plus patients.
• Telephonic outreach for ongoing preventive care and care coordination.
• Coordinate medical records, referrals, appointments, and orders.
• Travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support as needed.
• Other related duties as assigned.
