Job summary

Yale New Haven Health in New Haven, CT is seeking a POCT Supervisor to oversee Point of Care Testing across multiple sites, ensuring regulatory compliance and safe, accurate patient results. You will supervise personnel, coordinate education and proficiency testing, monitor QA programs, and collaborate with Laboratory, Nursing and Medical staff to optimize POCT workflows and instrument maintenance.

A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology with ASCP certification is required, with 5 years of

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology with ASCP certification or equivalent required.
Master's degree in Healthcare or Business preferred.
Minimum 5 years Medical Technology experience required; 2–3 years supervisory experience preferred.
POCT experience desirable and ability to interface with cross-section of hospital staff.

Responsibilities

Coordinate activity to maintain compliance with CLIA and accreditation standards.
Coordinate proficiency testing for the POCT program.
Coordinate education of the laboratory, nursing and other staff participating in POCT.
Monitor certification and competency testing records for POCT.
Participate in inter and intra-department QA initiatives and monitoring of indicators.
Assess POCT area's ordering, inventory control and budgetary practices.
