Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking an experienced POCT Supervisor to oversee the Point of Care Testing program. You will supervise and educate staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage QA, inventory, and interfaces with the LIS system.

Responsibilities include coordinating proficiency testing, monitoring certification, and supporting inspections by accrediting bodies. A strong background in Medical Technology and ASCP certification is required, with leadership experience valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology with ASCP certification or equivalent required.
• Master's degree in Healthcare or Business preferred.
• Minimum 5 years Medical Technology experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• POCT experience desirable and experience interfacing with hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate compliance with federal, state and local regulations and accreditation standards.
• Coordinate proficiency testing for the POCT program.
• Educate laboratory, nursing and other staff participating in POCT.
• Monitor certification and competency records for POCT staff.
• Manage QA initiatives, indicators and corrective actions for POCT.
• Oversee inventory, budgeting and supply management for POCT.
• Maintain technical competency and knowledge of regulations and hospital policies.
• Utilize LIS functions and maintain POCT interfaces and databases.
