MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA seeks an experienced POC and LIS Coordinator to oversee the integration and operation of point‑of‑care testing and the laboratory information system across the hospital. The role requires extensive knowledge of phlebotomy, laboratory procedures and IT to ensure accurate data management and compliant patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in science or equivalent
• Advanced certification or training in phlebotomy, medical technology, QA/QM or related health field preferred
• Licensed CLS with 1 year of POC or QA/QM experience required
• Unlicensed personnel may be considered with 3 years POC assistance or 2+ years lead/supervisor in lab
• Experience with POC testing operations and LIS systems preferred
• Project management and ability to implement new technologies in healthcare setting

Responsabilités

• Provide technical oversight for Point of Care testing to meet accreditation standards.
• Maintain and troubleshoot test systems and equipment.
• Coordinate POC testing activities with nursing, physicians and management.
• Oversee LIS and POC testing operations under supervisor direction.
• Develop training programs for staff on POC procedures and LIS functionality.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance practices in the lab.
• Serve as liaison between lab staff, IT and clinical departments for LIS/POC testing.
• Assist with data collection and reporting for POC/LIS IT issues.
• Support implementation/validation of new middleware/software/test systems/firmware.
