Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Navigation & Systems Engineer (Project Engineer – Systems Engineering) to deliver independent systems engineering, architecture analysis, acquisition support, and strategic technical guidance for NASA SCaN campaigns. You will collaborate with NASA civil servants, industry partners, and international stakeholders on lunar, cislunar, and deep-space concepts.

The role is based at Goddard Spaceflight Center, Greenbelt, MD, with an expectation of at least 4 days

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; 6+ years in systems engineering and navigation systems; experience with NASA/DoD PNT programs; application of lifecycle processes: requirements, architecture, trade studies; prior involvement in SCaN/space comms/nav architectures; ability to lead architecture trades and engage with partners.

Responsibilities

Provide systems engineering and technical integration support for SCaN commercialization and innovation initiatives.
Leverage PNT system knowledge in support of SCaN formulation and research campaigns.
Support formulation and execution of research and acquisition campaigns (BAAs, AoAs, RFIs).
Conduct architecture assessments, trade studies, and technical evaluations for space communications and navigation systems.
Prepare technical briefings and campaign summaries for NASA leadership.
Assist with program metrics, status reports, and coordination with stakeholders.
