BeyondSOF is seeking a senior ERP Project Manager in Virginia to lead a major modernization effort replacing legacy systems with a modern ERP solution. The role focuses on coordinating internal business and IT teams with an external implementation partner to deliver on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates will have deep ERP experience, strong stakeholder engagement, and proven ability to navigate state procurement and compliance requirements for large-scale public sector projects.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in IT project management, with at least 5+ years managing high-risk, high-budget IT projects.
• 10 years proven experience with large-scale ERP or financial software implementation projects; government accounting a plus.
• 5 years expertise in PM methodologies: Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, and hybrid models.
• 3 years ACTIVE PMP certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead ERP project from initiation through go-live and implementation.
• Manage full lifecycle: requirements, planning, vendor coordination, execution, and go-live.
• Serve as the primary coordination point between internal business/technical teams and external implementation partner.
• Navigate government procurement and compliance requirements to drive modernization to completion.

VITA is initiating a strategic effort to replace its legacy PeopleSoft Financial system with a modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. To support this critical initiative, VITA is seeking a senior-level ERP Project Manager to lead the project from initiation through successful implementation.
This initiative has been championed by VITA’s Chief Financial Officer, who secured funding through an approved budget package and clearly outlined the limitations of the agency’s current 24-year-old system. To ensure the successful delivery of this enterprise-scale modernization effort, we are seeking a highly experienced IT consultant to serve as the ERP Project Manager.
The selected professional will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle—including requirements gathering, planning, vendor coordination, execution, and go-live—while serving as the key point of coordination between internal business and technical teams and the external implementation partner.
The ideal candidate will bring strategic leadership, deep ERP expertise, and a strong background in managing large-scale IT initiatives within the public sector. Experience with financial systems, cross-functional stakeholder engagement, and navigating government procurement and compliance requirements is essential to drive this mission-critical transformation to completion.
Skill Required / Desired Amount Experience Progressive experience in IT project management, with at least 5+ years managing high-risk, high-budget ($XXM+) IT projects. Required 10 Years Proven exp with large-scale ERP, or financial software implementation projects with understanding of governmental (preferred) accounting practices. Required 5 Years Expertise in PM methodologies: Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, and hybrid models. Required 3 Years ACTIVE PMP (Project Management Professional) certification (pls upload copy under Reference TAB) Required 5 Years Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, ServiceNow, Planview). Required 5 Years Executive-level communication and negotiation skills. and Strong political acumen and ability to navigate state agency landscapes. Desired 3 Years High-level problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Desired 3 Years Demonstrated success in managing multi-agency and multi-vendor environments.
