Job summary

PA TURNPIKE is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Wave 2 SAP S/4HANA initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, vendors, and executives. The role requires strong governance, risk management, and adherence to PMO standards.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in project management, hands-on SAP/ERP experience, PMP certification, and proven ability to manage multi-year programs with MS Project tools.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates internal and/or external staff across multiple IT projects of varying complexity.
• Develops and maintains project artifacts using established standards, templates, and methodologies.
• Builds and maintains the integrated project plan and schedule with dependencies and milestones.
• Estimates and maintains cost plans during all phases.
• Plans and schedules resources to ensure availability for activities.
• Forecasts resource capacity for real-time foresight and corrective actions.
• Establishes a governance framework with defined roles and escalation paths.
• Coordinates with business owners to define project scope and refine requirements.
• Executes the full project lifecycle and closes projects with lessons learned.
• Maintains relationships with technology staff, sponsors, vendors, and clients.
• Coordinates activities with System Integrator Project Managers within PA Turnpike landscape.
• Manages all project artifacts including signoffs and adheres to PMO Playbook.

Job description

- Wave 2 is a complex, enterprise-wide SAP S/4HANA enhancement initiative involving one of the PA TURNPIKE’s core business applications and numerous interconnected systems, business processes, and stakeholders.

- Successful delivery will require a highly motivated, experienced PM with exceptional organizational, communication, coordination, and leadership skills. The PM must be capable of managing multiple concurrent workstreams, navigating technical and business dependencies, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, and coordinating effectively with IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership.

- The selected resource will be expected to provide strong project governance, maintain accountability for deliverables, milestones, and budget estimations, as well as ensure that Wave 2 initiatives remain aligned with PA TURNPIKE’s strategic priorities, operational needs, and established project management standards.

PA TURNPIKE operates a complex, cloud-based, multi-tiered, multi-client SAP environment that includes, but is not limited to, the following platforms and solutions:

The selected candidate will perform the following duties:

• Manages and coordinates the activities of internal and/or external staff involved in multiple IT projects of varying complexity.
• Develops and maintains project artifacts as required using PA TURNPIKE or other established project management standards, procedures, templates, and methodologies.
• Builds and manages the detailed integrated project plan and schedule that captures all task level detail with deliverables, milestones, cross-functional dependencies, etc. while mapping the critical path.
• Estimates and maintains cost plan(s) during all phases of the project.
• Plan and schedule resources efficiently by ensuring that the right resources are allocated and available to the right project activities at the right time.
• Forecasts and enables resource capacity planning in a dynamically changing business environment. It is critical to forecast and get real-time foresight into project resourcing so that the project can take corrective actions ahead of time.
• Establishes project governance framework with a structured approach to govern the project activities. This framework must have well-defined roles, responsibilities, escalation paths, and decision-making processes.
• Coordinates with business owners and other analysts to define and refine the project scope.
• Performs project management duties through the entire project lifecycle, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling, and closing.
• Conducts lessons learned sessions during and after projects to identify recommendations for improvement.
• Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with technology staff, business owners, project sponsors, vendors, and key clients.
• Coordinates all project activities with System Integrator Project Managers including interrelated projects within the PA TURNPIKE landscape.
• Manages all project artifacts including signoffs.
• Adheres to the PA TURNPIKE PMO Playbook and referenced artifacts.

Desired Skillset/Minimum Experience:

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten (10) years of expertise in project/project management of projects of various size and subject matter, including but not limited to integration, scope, schedule, communication, vendor, and risk planning and management.
• The candidate must have experience managing high profile subject matter vendors within the on-prem and cloud landscape.
• Experience with Enterprise Business Solutions, specifically SAP/ERP projects as a Project Manager.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
• Experience with multi-year projects.
• Strong skills with leadership, conflict management, and negotiation.
• Must have expert level knowledge and extensive experience in creating and maintaining integrated plans in MS Project and or MS Project online.
• Excellent written and oral communication, and presentation skills.
