Job description

Our client is seeking a PMO Engagement Manager to oversee strategic programs and guide project managers and PMO-related roles within a mature PMO environment.

This is a full-time opportunity that is hybrid to downtown Chicago.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee multiple PMO-related roles to ensure alignment with organizational goals and strategic objectives.
• Collect, analyze, and present performance metrics for PMs and PMO-related roles to drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor and report on program-level KPIs, risks, and milestones to senior leadership.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to Project Managers and PMO-related roles to improve delivery performance and stakeholder engagement.
• Gather requirements for hiring needs across programs and projects, ensuring alignment with delivery goals.
• Define sourcing and vetting strategies and oversee onboarding processes for new consultants to ensure readiness and integration.
• Support resource planning and allocation across projects within the program.
• Track and maintain program governance structures and ensure compliance with PMO standards.
• Lead program reviews and retrospectives to capture lessons learned and best practices.
• Champion the use of project management tools and methodologies across the PMO.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience as a Program Manager within an established PMO, with 7–10 years of overall professional experience.
• Strong understanding of project and program management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile, Waterfall).
• Proven ability to coach and mentor project managers and business analysts.
• Experience collecting and analyzing performance metrics to inform decision-making and improve delivery.
