The PMO Civil Engineer Associate lI will perform mid-level engineering duties to support the Chicago Department of Water’s (DWM) multi-billion Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This is a key position within the Water Main Design task for Water/Sewer compliance coordinating engineer and corrective work actions.
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) Preferred.

Report to: Project Engineer - Team Lead
Experience: Typically 4+ years of experience required.
Communication Skills: Basic verbal and written communication skills.
Technical Skills: Spatial and design skills to visualize projects in 2D and 3D. Intermediate engineering skills to compliment position goal. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Bluebeam, and CADD software, specifically the Bentley Suite of products including Open Roads Designer, ProjectWise and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D. Knowledge of local agency standards preferred. Basic knowledge and understanding of IEPA water and sewer regulations, utility standards, and department specifications preferred. Experience in working on municipal water and/or utility projects preferred.

Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop or kneel, climb, or balance, talk, or hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects tools or control. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on occasion.
Working Environment: This job may require long periods of standing or walking in the field and include exposure to all types of outside weather conditions, varying noise levels, and hazards associated with construction. Wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment is required while performing work in the field. The employee may also be exposed to a general office environment, requiring long periods of sitting at a computer in ambient inside temperature, lighting and noise level. Due to the collaborative nature of this position, the work will need to be performed in the field or office, typically during normal business hours. Travel is required; must possess a valid license.
Continuing Education: Complete state-required competency. Attend job-related seminars and workshops.
Pay Range: $78,500 - $91,520
