Job summary

AdventHealth in Lakeland, Florida, is seeking a full-time Paramedic to join the EMS transport team. You will identify and stabilize patients, administer care during transport, and manage advanced airway and cardiac devices per EMS protocols, delivering high-quality emergency medical services.

The role requires state licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, CDL or DL, and a driver’s license, with night shifts and Florida background screening compliance. Join a faith-based network committed to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions [Required]
• Ability to identify and treat life threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Responsibilities

• Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes patients during transport under the direction of the medical director and EMS protocols.
• Provides direct medical care to patients during transport consistent with established EMS medical protocols and guidelines.
• Establishes and manages advanced airways via intubation, LMA, and/or cricothyrotomy as approved by EMS medical protocols.
• Manages ventilators, IABP, and LVAD during transport.
• Administers approved medications and narcotics consistent with EMS medical protocols.

Job Description:

• Manages ventilators, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) during transport.
• Administers approved medications and narcotics consistent with EMS medical protocols.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ experience emergency vehicle operations [Preferred]
• Ambulance transport experience [Preferred]

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Required]
• Licensed Paramedic (PARA) [Required]
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL) [Required] OR
