Job summary

AdventHealth in Lakeland, FL is seeking a licensed paramedic to join our transport team. You will identify, intervene, and stabilize patients during transport under EMS protocols and the direction of the medical director.

Responsibilities include managing airways, ventilators, LVAD during transport, and administering medications and blood products per EMS guidelines. Licensure requirements include BLS, ACLS, PALS, PARA and CDL or DL.

Qualifications

Job Description

• Shift: Mid-shift 10:00 am - 10:30 pm
• Reporting to Location: 6645 South Florida Ave, Lakeland, FL 33813
• Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes patients during transport under the direction of the medical director and EMS protocols.
• Provides direct medical care to patients during transport consistent with established EMS medical protocols and guidelines. Establishes and manages advanced airways via intubation, Laryngeal mask airway (LMA), and/or cricothyrotomy as approved by EMS medical protocols.
• Manages ventilators, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) during transport.
• Administers approved medications and narcotics consistent with EMS medical protocols. Infuses blood products consistent with EMS medical protocols.
• Performs all required procedures consistent with EMS medical protocols.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions [Required]
• Ability to identify and treat life threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Education

• Associate [Preferred]

Work Experience

• 1+ experience emergency vehicle operations [Preferred]
• Ambulance transport experience [Preferred]

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Required]
• Licensed Paramedic (PARA) [Required]
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL) [Required] OR

• Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) [Required] OR
• Commercial Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) [Required]

Pay Range
$20.80 - $38.67
