Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, Florida is seeking a shift-based Paramedic for EMS transports. You will provide primary patient care, assess and intervene per EMS protocols, and educate patients and families about conditions and treatments.

Responsibilities include equipment checks, inventory, safe vehicle operation, and thorough documentation. A valid PARA license, CDL or DL, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, CEVO/EVOC are required, with 1+ advanced life support transport experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications required: PARA, CDL or DL, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, CEVO or EVOC.

Responsibilities

• Provides primary patient care activities on transports within EMS scope as defined by EMS protocols.
• Assesses, plans, implements interventions, and evaluates the appropriate level of patient care.
• Educates patients and family members about illnesses and clinical interventions.
• Inspects and maintains equipment to ensure safety of transport team, patients, and the public.
• Operates emergency vehicles safely in diverse conditions adhering to safety standards.
• Maintains accurate and in‑scope patient and departmental documentation.

Job Description:

Shift: 12 hours per shift, Day Shift 0600-1800

Provides primary patient care activities on transports approved within scope of practice as defined by EMS Medical Director. Assesses, plans, implements intervention, and evaluates the appropriate level of patient care according to scope of practice, EMS Protocols, department policies and procedures. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions and treatments, as appropriate. Educates patients and family members about patient illnesses and clinical interventions. Inspects and maintains equipment to ensure the safety of transport team members, patients, and the general public. Monitors and anticipates needs for additional equipment and appropriately secures tools to meet patient care demands during transport. Operates emergency vehicles safely in a variety of weather and emergent conditions in accordance with established safety standards. Maintains the unit in a constant state of readiness and completes medication, supplies, and equipment inventories each shift, restocking as needed. Ensures patient and departmental documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Field of Study:

• of Science in health-related field.
• Successful completion of UMBC, University of Florida, AdventHealth EMS Critical Care Paramedic curriculum, or AdventHealth University Critical Care Paramedic curriculum OR Critical Care Paramedic certification (CCEMT-P, CICP, UF CCP, FP-C, CCP-C). Required

Work Experience:

• 1+ advanced life support transport experience. [Required]
• 3+ critical care transport experience. [Preferred]
• 5+ advanced life support transport experience [Preferred]
• 5+ driving passenger vehicles [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Licensed Paramedic (PARA) [Required]
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL) [Required] OR Driver's License (DL) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
