Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a licensed Paramedic to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will participate in bedside shift reports, rounds, and safety huddles, while collaborating with physicians and RNs to deliver quality care throughout the patient’s stay.

The role requires active Paramedic licensure (PARA) with BLS, ACLS and PALS, plus 1+ year of field or clinical experience. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equiv is required.
  • Associate in paramedicine is preferred.
  • Graduate of state approved paramedic course is required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in bedside shift reports, safety huddles, multidisciplinary patient rounds, and hourly rounding.
  • Provides quality patient care under the direction of the Physician and in collaboration with the Registered Nurse.
  • Participates in shared decision-making, performance improvement activities, and provides input to committees.
  • Accepts accountability for problem-solving issues and works with leaders to resolve clinical issues.
  • Documents interventions in a timely manner.
  • Administers medications when ordered by the overseeing physician and delegated by the Registered Nurse.
  • Assures patient safety by adhering to established policies and procedures and utilizing patient safety resources.
  • Prioritizes interventions based on patient needs in collaboration with nurse and support staff.
  • Performs and documents accurate reassessments as defined by standards of care and physician orders.
  • Monitors and intervenes in pain management under the delegation of the Registered Nurse.
  • Administers and monitors respiratory therapy in collaboration with respiratory therapy.
  • Performs and documents procedures according to the Paramedic scope defined by the Medical Director, including dressing changes, wound care, blood draws, IV and IO insertion/discontinuation, splinting, cervical stabilization, hemorrhage control, mechanical restraints, and assisting with complex bedside procedures.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Associate in paramedicine
Graduate of state approved paramedic course

Education:

Work Experience:
  • 1+ year of experience as a paramedic in the field, a hospital, or in a clinical setting [Required]
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Licensed Paramedic (PARA) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) [Required]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Required]

Pay Range:

$20.38 - $32.60
